My On Going Obsession With Quentin Tarantino! Autographs! Photos!

Quentin was out again and of course, so was I! He is usually one each though sometimes I manage to get more but on this day he was very strict and I added him to my True Romance!

I now have Ed Lauter, Brad Pitt, Paul Ben Victor, James Gandolfini, Tom Sizemore, Christian Slater, Dennis Hopper, Gary Oldman, Harvey Weinstein, Samuel L Jackson, Patricia Arquette and Quentin on this!

Quentin Tarantino! Autographs! Photos!

It's amazing that no matter how many times I get Quentin's autograph my stack of photos I need him to sign never seems to shrink! I went for him again the other day and was able to get 2 (he is usually only one each) and finally completed my combo of him and Kurt Russell!

Pacific Rim - My Review

Pacific Rim  -  2013  -  Directed by Guillermo Del Toro

There are two things about video games I can't stand. One is the tutorials in the beginning. Enough already, I just want to play. The worst? Watching someone else play one. Unfortunately, I experienced both of these emotions watching this film.

The human race has met its match when the Kaiju, enormous sea monsters, rise from the depths of the Pacific Ocean and begin attacking and killing thousands, leading to the creation of Jaeger's, robots which take two humans to pilot.

Charlie Hunnam is Raleigh Becket, one of the first to pilot one of these robots and brought back years later as the apocalypse looks inevitable. He is paired up with Mako (Rinko Kikuchi), a survivor of a Kaiju attack while just a child who now must learn to harness her vengeance in order to complete their mission. They are led by Commander Stacker Pentecost (Idris Elba), a man of few words, who helped raise Mako.

The set up is promising. The delivery is disappointing. When it becomes obvious that the Kaiju are only attacking along coastlines my first thought was why do people still live there? I would rather move and be homeless than live in a kill zone. There are scenes and dialogue straight out of other films. Considering the talent of all involved, especially Director Del Toro (who made the masterpiece Pan's Labyrinth), I expected more originality.

The actors aren't given much to do but they do try. Elba is especially good at conveying emotion and leadership without speaking and there is some chemistry between Hunnam and Rinko but basically this is Transformers in the ocean.

Recently the SyFy channel gave us Sharknado. There is more originality in the title of that movie than there is in this entire film.

Rating: 4 out of 10

I learn a life lesson from Bruce Willis! (WARNING: Sarcasm Alert!)

#1 - Bruce Willis is better than me and you and everyone.
#2 - As far as graphing, he is now dead to me.

Over the years I have never had a good experience with Willis so I should expect this but I refuse to expect people to be this big of an asshole. At the Red 2 premiere when everyone else signed I thought maybe there was a chance that he would too. Instead he walked the line and would stop and stand in front of people and "let" them gaze upon his holier than thou self in order to enrich their sad pathetic lives. (You might think I am poring it on thick but honestly this is exactly what happened) Ask for an autograph and get a look of disgust from him. He is in my favorite movie of all time so this hurts every time I meet this asshole and he acts like this.

After he finished going down the whole line showing off like he is still a major box office draw, he proceeded to come back up the line shaking people's hands. One person asked for an autograph and he told them, " This is real life." Another example, "This is a real life lesson." The best example, one person says to him, Bruce I love you! His response? With a straight face, "I know." Apparently my parents lied to me when I was a kid when they told me no one was better than me.

I love the hobby of graphing. I love meeting these celebrities and getting their autographs. Just because I love it by no means makes me believe they are better than me. They are just famous. It takes a ego the size of Mount Rushmore to believe you are better than everyone and then to act like it as well. Have some humility towards all the people who helped get you to where you are at.

I will always love Pulp Fiction and Die Hard. I really liked his performances in both films. I just don't like him as a person.

Maynard AKA Duane Whitaker of Pulp Fiction! Autographs! Photos!

This was a big one for me. Pulp Fiction is my all time favorite movie and not only did I get a few graphs from Duane but he put some quotes on them for me which made me ecstatic! These are the kinds of days that make me love graphing! I also took video of him signing for me as well which you can watch below.

He wrote "The Gimps Sleeping" and added his character name!

"Come by the shop but watch your ass!" with character name

This now has Duane, Steve Buscemi, Rosanna Arquette, Harvey Weinstein, Danny Devito and Samuel L Jackson on it.

Diane Kruger of Inglourious Basterds! Autographs! Photos!

I haven't had the best of luck with Diane lately as she has been difficult and at times hasn't even signed. I always need her on some Basterds photos so thought I would try again! This time, she was super cool and was signing everything and I got my photos done! Once again, she wouldn't do the photo op though.
